Key Astrological Dates for January 2026

Happy New Year! We are finally into 2026, the year of the Horse in the Chinese Zodiac and a 1 year in Numerology. The theme for this year is moving ahead with passions, taking leaps of faith and putting plans into motion. Let’s see what January has in store among the stars….

1st January- Mercury enters Capricorn:

The planet of mind moves into Capricorn, the sign of long-term plans and goals. Your focus will turn towards what you were trying to build and achieve in this New Year. Be smart and do your research, as you will find you’ll be ready to take action over the following three weeks.

3rd January- Cancer Full Moon:

The Full Moon lands in the emotional sign of Cancer and this will enable you to focus on home and family matters whilst taking care of your emotional needs as well as giving and receiving emotional support.

10th January- Last Quarter Moon in Libra:

This last quarter moon is a time of clearing out. As it is in Libra, you may find the help and support of a friend or loved one beneficial over the next week. It is also a good time to focus on removing a block or issue in a relationship that is hindering commitment.

17th January- Venus enters Aquarius:

The planet of love enters Aquarius, who governs friendships and social circles. Over the next few weeks, you can enjoy expanding your social circle, meeting new, unusual connections or simply just spending time with good friends. Remember to keep an open mind with others and embrace individuality.

18th January- Capricorn New Moon:

This New Moon is a great time to reach new height, set new goals and get recognition for what you have done. But only if you have done things in the correct manner! Remain disciplined and focused as you work on long-term plans.

19th January- Sun enters Aquarius:

Aquarius season kicks off and this month you are likely to feel more hopeful about the future, full of dreams and open to change. It is also a good time to connect with friends or challenge yourself in new ways. Step out of your comfort zone.

20th January- Mercury enters Aquarius:

With Mercury moving into Aquarius, your focus will turn to your future, hopes and dreams. Thinking outside of the box will open up more opportunities for you.

23rd January- Mars enters Aquarius:

Mars, the planet of drive and energy, enters Aquarius bringing more energy and drive to your dreams. You’ll feel motivated to make changes over the coming weeks but remember to stay loyal to your individuality.

25th January- First Quarter Moon in Taurus:

Next week is a great time to make any adjustments needed to your foundation. Stability will need to be made slowly, but it is important to see it through once you start.

26th January- Neptune enters Aries:

Neptune officially moves into Aries where it will stay for more than a decade. You’ll be able to be more proactive with your spiritual pursuits as well as exploring your inner self. Take charge with empathy and compassion whilst letting yourself run riot with your imagination.

A relatively quiet month to ease us into 2026, but with huge planetary shifts, a Solar Eclipse and Mercury Retrograde looming in February, it is important to lay solid foundations this month.
